Snakes that Swim

Feb 01, 2012

Hi Dear Friends,

Well, be careful what you ask in other countries. The other day we were out in the village and one of the villagers walked by with a large dead snake. We all looked at it as he was taking it home for lunch. It got us thinking about snakes and we had never really asked much about snakes in Cambodia...we knew there were a lot of snakes in Burma.
Anyway after some asking and a little research we found out that every year they harvest about 4 million snakes out of the Tonle Sap Lake..http://youtu.be/9n-FioZU0Iw. where Rick has been known to swim. Also that there are a number of different snakes here. We have attached a couple of you tube videos. Needless to say we won't be swimming in the Lake this year and also we will be a little more careful where we walk. Also is attached a video of a very special Cambodian pet..see below.

So long swimming...
Love,
A&R
